International Women's Day in 2022
Women do amazing work at Montville Coffee. They have long broken the gendered roles in the manufacturing industry, they hold positions of leadership, and they work hard to empower everyone in our team. But we acknowledge that this isn’t always easy. The equality and strength we see in our team is the result of an overt consciousness to hire for diversity and a significant investment in capacity building that has taken time.
The Growing Women in Coffee Project
On this International Women’s Day 2022, Montville Coffee wants to recognise the work done by women to make our business great. Here in Australia we value the role women play in every part of our supply chain. Locally, we work hard to make sure women are given the opportunities they deserve but this can be harder to achieve with our producers overseas.
Women and girls are agents of change
Over the past decades, the global community has made a lot of effort in inspiring and engaging women in science. Yet there is still a lot of progress to be made. A major theme on this international day is recognising women and girls in science, not only as beneficiaries but also as agents of change.

On the 20th of November World Children’s Day is celebrated universally to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improve children’s welfare. At Montville Coffee we often consider the rights of the child with the knowledge that we work in an industry rife with exploitation.

On the 15th of October World Food Day ceremonies are set to take place all over the world. The World Day Celebration calls for the transformation of agri-food systems to ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to enough, affordable, safe and nutritious food to lead active and healthy lives.

As Fairtrade Fortnight came to a close last week, our staff took some time to reflect on what it means to us to be part of the Fairtrade movement. It is far too easy to get caught up in the day to day happenings of the workplace and the hard things around us.
Climate Change
Like you, we care about what’s going on with climate change. It’s an issue that can seem so big that it’s insurmountable and you can be fooled into thinking that small acts won’t make any real difference. But we believe it’s up to each of us to do what we can – to recycle, to decrease our use of fossil fuels, and to buy products that are environmentally sustainable.
