Coffee and breakfast pairing to delight your senses
The flavours and aromas of coffee run deep, and when combined with certain dishes, your coffee can reveal tastes and qualities that you didn't even know were there. Your taste buds are a complex network just waiting to be explored!
This month we have paired our Coffee Of the Month, Colombia Premium, with the familiar and hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs on locally owned and grown Ten Acres toast. In this delicious pairing the tasting notes of Colombia's caramelised sugar, peaches and raisin really make the savoury breakfast pop.
A loaf of your favourite bread (we love Ten Acres)
Eggs (we love Forage Farms)
Bacon (we recommend nitrate free)
Relish (we love Ugly Duck Beetroot Rhubarb Relish)
50 ml olive oil
1. Heat half the oil in a large frying pan, add bacon and cook, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked to your liking (3-4 minutes for semi-crisp). Drain on paper towels and keep warm.
2. Wipe pan with paper towels, add remaining oil, crack in eggs and cook over medium-high heat to your liking (3-4 minutes for soft yolks).
3. To serve, top buttered toast with a dollop of relish, some bacon and a fried egg. Season to taste.
4. Sip Colombian Coffee
