Grown in the Bener Meriah districts of the highlands of Aceh in western Sumatra, Indonesia where the soil is enriched with volcanic matter – an ideal landscape for cultivating certified Fairtrade Organic coffee. This coffee is produced by Kokowagayo, a women-owned and women-managed coffee cooperative growing organic coffee in the region using sustainable practices.

When we say that as part of our company values we support our coffee farming communities and the protection of the environment, we don’t ask you: ‘take our word for it’. We want those values to stand on their own and want you to be able to rely on independent third party certification. Through our longstanding relationship with Fairtrade we have been able to witness first hand this transformative impact.

I have been buying this blend on and off over a number of years and really enjoy it. I have tried other blends from Montville but keep coming back to this one. It's a meaty coffee and suited to a long black. There's always some beans in the cupboard.

The Sumatra blend has a strong taste I love. To me it tastes very chocolatey and is great for a latte although I’ve enjoyed it in an Americano as well. A beautiful, dependable brew every time. Highly recommend.

We've now have takeaway coffee at home. Switching between the decaf and the Sumatra bean, we're hard pressed to find a local coffee shop that makes a better brew. Top that off with great customer service and prompt delivery Montville coffee is worth every cent.
