Celebrating International Women’s Day with Montville Coffee

Every year, as International Women's Day approaches, we seek to find meaningful ways to honor and celebrate the achievements of women everywhere. At Montville Coffee, this year holds special significance as we reflect on our journey and the incredible women who have been instrumental in shaping our story.

Our founder, Karen Barnett, often reminisces about the early days of Montville Coffee, when it was just a fledgling startup striving to make its mark in the world. Those were the days of The Natural Food Store (later to be called Kunara Organic Marketplace), a small yet visionary store that would soon become an integral part of our narrative.

We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the pioneers at Kunara Organic Marketplace who shared our commitment to promoting local, health-conscious products while we were pioneering Queensland's first fair trade organic coffee brand. Their unwavering support and shared values propelled us forward, shaping the trajectory of our journey.

To commemorate International Women’s Day this year, we had the pleasure of meeting with Assunta, one of Kunara's own naturopaths, whose charisma, joyfulness, and kindness embody the spirit of this special day. Together, we embarked on a tour of the Kunara store, taking the opportunity to celebrate the diverse range of suppliers who are driven by passionate, intelligent, and resourceful women.

In the company of such inspiring individuals, we are reminded of the power of collaboration and the importance of uplifting one another. As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the women who have played a role in our journey, from our dedicated team members to our valued partners and customers.
