Coffee Balsamic Glaze Recipe

At the Montville Coffee Cafe at the Big Pineapple, we are kept busy with catering jobs. We love using locally sourced and high-quality ingredients.

For this event for the Food and Agribusiness Network, we have used Big Heart Pickled Bamboo Shoots and local feta cheese to make a delicious Bruchetta finished with our Coffee Balsamic Glaze.

Big Heart Bamboo Gourmet Pickled Bamboo Shoots have been pickled in an additive-free Apple Cider Vinegar complimented with the fresh juice of Ginger & Turmeric, Honey and Smoked Black Pepper. Highly recommended! You can get them from their website.

Our Coffee Balsamic Glaze is a hit, and so easy to make. This glaze goes perfectly on top of salads and appetizers. Store in a pouring bottle in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

1/2 cup brewed light- to medium-roast coffee
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
One strip of orange peel

Place all ingredients into a small saucepan. Bring to boil, then let simmer for 20 mins. Stir occasionally. Once reduced into a thick consistency take off the heat. When cool transfer into a pouring bottle and store in the fridge.
