Supporting farmers in East Timor

When you choose Montville Coffee's Fairtrade Organic coffee, you are making a difference to farmers and the environment. Coffee farmers in organic orchards do not use chemicals or degrade the environment. All farmers who supply Montville Coffee are paid a Fairtrade premium for the coffee they produce.

Cooperative Café Timor primarily uses Fair Trade premiums for its revolutionary healthcare programs. CCT has set up 10 full-service clinics as well as 25 mobile clinics that make regular calls to remote locations. Free primary healthcare is provided to all CCT members and their immediate families. By the end of 2006, CCT clinics had attended to the needs of over 1 million rural family patients since the clinics were opened. The health services focus on prenatal care, as East Timor has a very high infant/maternal mortality rate. (Source transfairusa.org)
