When we started drinking fair trade coffee in the early 1980s, it was the commitment to our ideals, not the quality of the coffee that kept us at it. In those days, you had to choose between taste and having a conscience!

However, times have changed, and premium quality fair trade organic coffee is now readily available on the world market. This change prompted us to start Montville Coffee in 2000, committing ourselves to make freshly roasted, premium fair trade organic coffee available to Australians. In fact, we were the first coffee roasting business in Queensland to do this.

In the beginning, it was a real challenge to get enough fair trade green beans to roast. Now that we have a lot more choice, we have been able to create a variety of premium organic coffee blends to suit all tastes.
